MOODLE HELP VIDEOS
EDITING A TOPIC AND CREATING A CHAPTER

A teacher will see many "edit hand" icons on a course's home page when "Turn editing on" button has been clicked. Or they will see the HTML editor and content area within many activities and resources.
For example, a teacher can edit the text that appears at the top of a section in a course by clicking on the edit hand icon. A student and a teacher will see the HTML tool when they reply to a forum post but will not have the ability of changing a topic heading in the course.

ADD SINGLE FILE UPLOAD

When you wish to share with your students a simple file such as a Word-processed document or slideshow (eg created in MS Word, Powerpoint, or Open Office) you use the File resource type. It allows you to upload and display a variety of resources on your course. How your students access them depends on your choices in File module settings. Note also that they will only be able to open your files if they have the appropriate software on their own computers.

IMPORT AN OLD COURSE INTO NEW COURSE

Course activities and resources may be imported from any other course that the teacher has editing permissions in. This will allow teachers to re-use instead of re-creating one or more activities or resources. Import course data is similar to a backup and restore process and does not include any user data.

ADD A RESOURCE OR AN ACTIVITY

A resource is an item that a teacher can use to support learning, such as a file or link. Moodle supports a range of resource types which teachers can add to their courses. In edit mode, a teacher can add resources via a drop down menu. Resources appear as a single link with an icon in front of it that represents the type of resource.

REMOVE A STUDENT

ADD QUIZ ACTIVITY

The Quiz activity module allows the teacher to design and build quizzes consisting of a large variety of Question types, including multiple choice, true-false, and short answer questions. These questions are kept in the Question bank and can be re-used in different quizzes.

ADD QUESTIONNAIRE

The Moodle Questionnaire module is a survey-like type of activity. It allows teachers to create a wide range of questions to get student feedback e.g. on a course or activities. The goals of the Questionnaire module are quite different from those of the Moodle Lesson or Quiz modules. With Questionnaire you do not test or assess the student, you gather data.

COMMUNICATING WITH STUDENTS

Some examples include: Forums are great for extended conversations over time, Messages for private channels, Chat for synchronous conversations, and Comments for quick notices and remarks.
